Green Tara

A few months ago I made a piece of music in my studio incorporating the mantra of Green Tara:

Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha

Every so often I check into my soundcloud page to see if there’s been anyone listening to that track and others that I have up there.

Today I had a look and was delighted to see that the Green Tara track has been listened to 108 times.

Nearly every day, someone, somewhere, has had a listen to it.

This is the mantra I chant every day, no matter what else is going on in my life.  Chanting it brings me strength, calmness, perspective and all manner of good things.  When I’ve chanted it 108 times I feel like I’ve taken a shower inside – refreshed, relaxed and clear-headed and generally the right way up.

I read recently that Green Tara protects from perils with laughter, and this fits my experience as quite often I find myself smiling and sometimes even laughing as I chant the mantra.

I have no idea how mantras ‘work’.  Frankly I don’t care.  All I know is that my daily practice has changed my life in every respect for the better and I feel grateful beyond words for the discovery of this simple, free activity that requires only one thing of me – that I do it.

Green Tara is known as the Buddha of enlightened activity.  Activity is all it takes.  If you bother with mantra, mantra will bother with you.

Once again for good measure…

Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha

Have a great day
